8th meeting of CPG PTC - July 2019


The 8th meeting of project team C (PTC) of CEPT’s CPG held a meeting last 2-4 July in Vilnius, Lithuania, chaired by Martin Weber of Germany and attended by 30 delegates representing 15 national regulatory bodies, the European Communications Office (ECO) and observers.

PTC is responsible for debating and proposing to the CPG positions to defend at the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19) with respect to items under its responsibility in the scope of CEPT/CPG (1.8, 1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.10 and 9.1.4), concerning issues involving maritime and aeronautic communications, specifically spectrum needs and regulatory arrangements for introduction and use of the Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) and regulatory questions for updating and modernising the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

Various matters regarding items dealt with in the PTC scope were discussed and the proposed working documents (briefs) on several items updated. They were approved in PTC so they could be submitted to the CPG for consideration/approval. European common proposals were likewise approved for submission to the CPG, concerning the items under analysis 1.8, 1.9.1 and 1.10 of the WRC-19 agenda.
