ANACOM temporarily takes over the tasks and powers of the Portuguese Space Authority, as stipulated in Decree-Law No 16/2019, published on 22 January 2019.
This piece of legislation, which establishes the system for the access to and exercise of space activities, establishes an innovative legal framework aimed at facilitating the development of space activities, products and services in Portugal, attracting higher value-added and knowledge-based businesses and operations, as well as stimulating research and development in this area.
