By decision of 19 July 2018, ANACOM has approved draft decisions on the wholesale markets for call termination on public telephone networks at a fixed location, corresponding to (i) definition of the relevant market, assessment of significant market power (SMP) and the imposition, maintenance, amendment and withdrawal of regulatory obligations and (ii) specification of price control obligations.
Approval was also given to the reports of the prior hearing and the consultation to which the respective draft decisionshttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1433264 were submitted (draft decisions approved on 23 March 2018). In response to these procedures, contributions were received from the following undertakings: Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor (Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection), G9 Telecom, MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia, NOS Comunicações (and subsidiaries: NOS Açores Comunicações and NOS Madeira Comunicações), and Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais. An opinion was also received from AdC - Autoridade da Concorrência (Portuguese Competition Authority).
In compliance with applicable procedures, these draft decisions are to be notified to the European Commission, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the national regulatory authorities of the other Member States of the European Union.
