The project team on Number Portability (PT NP) of the ECC working group on Numbering and Networks (WG NaN) met last 18-19 October at the European Communications Office (ECO) headquarters in Copenhagen.
This team has been conducting studies and producing reports and recommendations about aspects associated to simplification of operator switching, including number portability.
In the scope of PT NP, this meeting discussed the ongoing reorganisation of WG NaN working groups, main aspects with a view to producing reports and/or recommendations concerning the use of over-the-air technology, the role of E.164 numbers in international fraud and/or improper use in electronic communication services and the use of calling line identification.
This working group’s next meeting is scheduled for February 2017.
