A meeting between the chair and vice-chairs of BEREC and the IRG was held last 21 September in Weimar, Germany.
The main focus of the meeting was discussion around BEREC’s response to the European Commission (EC) request on implementing acts of the policy for responsible use and sustainability of the abolition of retail roaming surcharges, the BEREC working programme for 2017, next steps regarding the EC’s proposals for the review of the regulatory framework for electronic communications and elections for the BEREC presidency in 2018 and for vice-chairs in 2017.
The participants were Fátima Barros (chair of the ANACOM Board of Directors), Wilhelm Eschweiler (Bundesnetzagentur-BNetzA - chair of BEREC and the IRG in 2016), Sebastien Soriano (Autorité de Régulation des Communications Électroniques et des Postes-ARCEP - chair of BEREC and the IRG in 2017), Henk Son (Authority for Consumers and Markets-ACM), Angelo Cardani (Autorità per le Garanzie nelle Comunicazioni-AGCOM) and Ömer Sayan (Information and Communication Technologies Authority-BTK - vice-chair of the IRG).
