ANACOM Alerts - faults occurring in electronic communications services and rules on contract amendments

As part of the "ANACOM Alerts" initiative, launched to strengthen the information that ANACOM makes available to consumers on specific sector issues, reflecting the main issues raised in complaints, the following article was published on 6 August (Correio da Manhã) and 7 August (Jornal de Notícias):

Faults occurring in electronic communication services

  • Providers are required to repair any faults occurring in the services they provide.
  • If a fault occurs in your service, make sure you report the situation to your provider.
  • Contacts to report faults, the price of calls to these services and their operating hours are specified in your contract and must be posted on each provider's website and in their retail outlets.

The section this week on Radio Renascença will air on 9, 10 and 11 August between 5 pm and 6 pm in the 1st position of the block as follows:

Do you know about the new rules on contract amendments?

  • Your provider can amend the conditions of your contract, including prices.
  • If the changes are not in your favour, the provider is required to give you notice of the amendments, 30 days in advance, informing you of your right to cancel the contract without charge if you do not accept them.
