It having been established that MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia wilfully committed 6 administrative offences (1 for violation of the obligation to provide public pay-telephones, 1 for violation of the obligation to make available public pay-telephones adapted for use by disabled people in wheelchairs and 4 for violation of obligations to provide information to ANACOM), on 5 May 2016, the company was made subject to a single fine of 200 thousand euros.
Notified of the decision and being in disagreement, MEO appealed to the Tribunal da Concorrência, Regulação e Supervisão (Court of Competition, Regulation and Supervision).
