Markets of wholesale local access provided at a fixed location and of wholesale central access provided at a fixed location for mass-market products - notification to the European Commission

By decision of 30 June 2016, ANACOM has approved the draft final decision for notification to the European Commission (EC), the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the national regulatory authorities (NRAs) of the other Member States of the European Union, on the analysis of the markets of wholesale local access at a fixed location (market 3a) and of wholesale central access at a fixed location for mass-market products (market 3b). This decision includes definition of product and geographic markets, assessment of SMP and the imposition, maintenance, amendment or withdrawal of regulatory obligations.

Approval was also given to the report of the prior hearing and consultation to which the respective draft decision was submitted  (Draft decisionhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1379378 approved on 11 February 2016); as part of this procedure, an opinion was received from Autoridade da Concorrência (Competition Authority) and contributions from Ar Telecom - Acessos e Redes de Telecomunicações, Grupo APAX, MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia, NOS, SGPS (acting on its own behalf and on behalf of its subsidiaries NOS Comunicações, NOS Açores Comunicações and NOS Madeira Comunicações) and from Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais.
