On 7 June 2016, ANACOM reinforced its information campaign on international roaming, which began on 27 April. This reinforcement covers print and digital media, including an advertising component in mobile devices.
The campaign's goal remains the same: to present the new rules which came into force on 30 April, alerting consumers to the need to contact their operators before travelling.
These new rules are intended to boost the elimination of the difference between domestic charges and roaming charges in the European Economic Area (EEA)1, in accordance with (EU) Regulation 2015/2120, on 25 November 2015 (which amended some provisions of (EU) Regulation No 531/2012, of 13 June 2012).
