''Girls in ICT Day'' 2016

“Girls in ICT Day” is celebrated on 28 April 2016. It is commemorated every year on the fourth Thursday of April.

The date was established by resolution of the International Telecommunication Union, in 2010, to celebrate the interests and opportunities that new technologies may provide to young women and to encourage them to consider studies and careers in information and communication technologies.

Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações (FPC) joins this initiative, carrying out on 6 May a debate, starting at 2 pm, in which ANACOM (which is one of FPC’s founders) takes part, in the scope of the panel “Mensagens alusivas ao dia”. Guilherme Waldemar d´Oliveira Martins , the Secretary of State for Infrastructures, will attend the closing session.

In the course of the event, prizes will be awarded to winners of the competition of digital papers on the subjects “Are we all digital?” and “What will the Teacher of the Future be like?”, launched in due course at school level.
