Decision to implement the geographical component of coverage obligations in the 800 MHz frequency band

By determination of 22 August 2013, ANACOM declared the conformity of the process for the selection by Vodafone Portugal – Comunicações Pessoais, TMN - Telecomunicações Móveis Nacionais and Optimus – Comunicações of parishes as tend to lack mobile broadband coverage, in compliance with article 34 of Regulation No 560-A/2011 of 19 October and with this Authority’s determination of 9 November 2012.

ANACOM also approved a decision to implement each operator’s coverage obligations in the 800 MHz frequency band, as regards their geographical component, having determined that such obligations become an integral part of qualifying documents drawing up the respective rights of use for frequencies.

It was further decided to dispense with the prior hearing of interested parties, pursuant to paragraph 2 b) of article 103 of the Administrative Procedure Code.
