On 20 September 2013, ANACOM is holding a Conference on ''Spectrum Management: Perspectives, Challenges and Strategies''. The event will take place at Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB), Luís de Freitas Branco room, in Lisbon.

The aim of this initiative is to encourage constructive discussion on the subject of spectrum management, taking into account the situations existing in different European countries, especially in terms of the regulatory framework and different trends. The Conference will also provide an opportunity to promote cooperation between stakeholders, including providers, industry and spectrum users. The exchange of different points of view at the event will also help ANACOM identify the most pressing issues of spectrum management and fitting strategies.

This Conference also aims to raise awareness and promote an open dialogue among the participants on relevant spectrum management issues, such as: digital dividend, strategic spectrum sectorial needs, preparation process for the World Radio Conference in 2015 and in the overall context of the first Radio Spectrum Policy Programme (RSPP).

This event will be preceded, on 19th September, by a European Commission workshop  to present ongoing European research projects on cognitive radio to European regulators and to provide participants with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with Cognitive Radio Experimentation World (CREW) facilities and cognitive components.
