ANACOM launches COM.escolha - a new online tool which helps consumers choose the services that are best for them

ANACOM - Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações has today launched COM.escolhahttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?categoryId=341307, a new tool which consumers can use to consult tariffs and simulate consumption of Internet, mobile telephone, fixed telephone and television services. It has been designed to help consumers make a choice between the different electronic communication products and choose the services that are best suited to their needs.

Designed exclusively for use by non-business and/or residential customers, COM.escolha is easy to use.  Consumers can either query the tariffs of all the different services or bundles of services available on the market or they can simulate different options based on their habitual consumption (in the latter case, the user will need to enter some data on their consumption profile).  Users can also create different combinations of more than one service, so that they can simulate tariffs and consumption for their own tailor-made bundles of services.

The information provided remains the responsibility of service providers, with ANACOM providing the technology supporting the service and the graphics tool that can now be used by all interested members of the public.

At the same time, ANACOM reminds users that, to make an informed choice, they should always obtain additional information about the conditions associated with the tariffs available on COM.escolha, including quality of service, minimum length clauses for locking equipment, where applicable, maintenance conditions and portability costs. This information is available on the websites of the different providers and at their sales outlets.

COM.escolha is already available in a graphic version and text version. A mobile version will be launched soon, specifically designed for those wanting to access the tool using their mobile phone/Smartphone.

It is ANACOM's goal that COM.escolha will evolve in order to adapt to the needs of its users. To guide its development, users are given a means to submit their own suggestions and comments.

In addition, a virtual assistant is available - "A ANACOM responde" - which can help users on topics as varied as the purpose of the tool, instructions for its use or the updating of data.
