The 2nd Lusophone Forum of Communications will take place on 14 and 15 April 2011, at Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval, in Sintra, organized by ARCTEL-CPLP - Associação de Reguladores de Comunicações e Telecomunicações da Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries).
Discussions will be held on current issues in the word of communications, presenting opportunities and challenges ahead, under the theme "Challenges and Opportunities".
The opening session will be attended by the President of ARCTEL-CPLP, Ronaldo Sardenberg, the Mayor of Sintra, Fernando Seara, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Co-operation, João Gomes Cravinho.
The Forum will feature three discussion panels:
The first panel, Challenges of Regional Regulation, to be held on 14 April at 15:30 will be moderated by Luís Nazaré and will rely on the presentation of several players of the Portuguese-speaking countries, including Mcel (Mozambique), Cv Telecom (Cape Verde), Movicel (Angola), Oi (Brazil).
The second panel on the theme of Business Organization Sectors will be held on the morning of 15 April, chaired by Basílio Horta and will have as keynote speakers, representatives of ETNO, AHCIET and CPLP.
Finally, on the afternoon of 15 April, there will be a panel dedicated to Development Partnerships moderated by Helder Oliveira and the participation of different entities with vocation for cooperation and development actions, such as REGULATEL, the European Commission and IPAD.
The closing ceremonies shall be made by the Vice-Chairman, Alberto Souto de Miranda, Ronaldo Sardenberg and by the Secretary of State for Public Works and Communications, Paulo Campos.
Simultaneously, there will be a technological exhibition presenting the latest innovations and offers in the communications sector.
