Designation of 790-862 MHz sub-band for electronic communications services

By determination of 16 December of 2010, ANACOM approved the final decision on the designation and availability of 790-862 MHz sub-band for the provision electronic communication services, in accordance with Decision 2010/267/EU, including the corresponding amendment to the QNAF - Quadro Nacional de Atribuição de Frequências (National Frequency Allocation Table).

The availability of this sub-band before 2015 depends on the establishment of technical and geographic conditions which provide for the compatibility of usage, including between Morocco and Spain.

The final report of the general consultation is part of the determination to which  the draft decision was submitted and approved by resolution of September 28, 2010, under which opinions were expressed by  the Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (Media Regulatory Authority) (under the terms of Article 14 of the Television Act) as well as by the following organizations: APRITEL - Associação de Operadores de Telecomunicações, Associação Portuguesa de Radiodifusão, Confederação Portuguesa de Meios de Comunicação Social, Grupo Media Capital, Grupo Portugal Telecom, Onitelecom, Optimus, Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP), Radiomóvel, Sociedade Independente de Comunicação (SIC), Vodafone Portugal and Zon TV Cabo Portugal.
