On 14 December, ANACOM approved the obligations to be imposed on narrowband retail markets, identified as such by the Commission Recommendation 2003/311/EC, of 11 February, that is:
- Narrowband access to the public telephone network at a fixed location for residential customers (market 1);
- Narrowband access to the public telephone network at a fixed location for non-residential customers (market 2);
- Publicly available local and/or national telephone services provided at a fixed location for residential customers (market 3);
- Publicly available local and/or national telephone services provided at a fixed location for non-residential customers (market 5);
- Publicly available international telephone services provided at a fixed location for residential customers (market 4);
- Publicly available international telephone services provided at a fixed location for non-residential customers (market 6);
- Publicly available telephone services intended for non-geographical numbers at a fixed location (market 19 – out of the list of the Commission).
These obligations shall fall upon the undertakings of the PT Group operating in such markets, which were identified as being provided with significant market power (SMP) by determination of 8 July 2004.
The adoption of the established obligations followed the applicable consultation procedures, the corresponding report having also been approved.
