Selection and Pre-selection Regulation

The Selection and Pre-selection Regulation, approved by ANACOM on 14th December, has been published in the ''Diário da República'' no. 1/2006 (III Series).

This regulation, which came into force five working days after its publication, sets out the principles and rules governing selection and pre-selection on public telephone networks.

At the same time, “Pre-Selection Specification for FTS providers” approved on 12th May 2000 was repealed, as were the following determinations:

- ICP-ANACOM Board of Directors Determination (13th December 2000) concerning the contract for operator pre-selection and consumer information, in the area of call barring and direct and indirect access contractual entitlement

- ICP-ANACOM Board of Directors Determination (7th February 2002) concerning FTS provider statistical information.

- Order of the Chairman of the Board of Directors (13th October 2003) and Determination (16th October 2003), concerning pre-selection (call barring service 10xy)

This is the fourth ANACOM regulation adopted under the scope of the regulatory procedures set forth in the respective statutes. The three previous regulations were: Regulation no. 38/2004 on the procedures for the collection and delivery to municipalities of the MFRW (municipal fee for rights of way); Regulation no. 46/2005 on Quality of Service; Regulation no. 58/2005 on Portability.
