Public Consultation on the future of Postal Services - ANACOM sends comments to European Commission

ANACOM has sent the European Commission its comments for the public consultation launched on 10th November on the future of postal services.

These comments have now been published, and refer to the second part of the consultation, which covers a series of detailed questions about a range of issues that impact the postal sector.

With the aim of modernizing postal services, The Commission set up the consultation to evaluate the opportunity for initiatives in the postal market.  Meanwhile, The Commission should present a report and a proposal by 31st December 2006, confirming whether or not an internal market in postal services come into force in 2009.

The findings of the consultation will be published on the EU's “Your Voice on the Internet” website.
