Instituto do Consumidor (Institute of the Consumer - IC) issued on 28 March a public warning to consumers and the general public about a fraudulent scheme involving the use of land mobile service networks.
According to IC, SMS messages are being sent to the phones of land mobile service users informing of an alleged change to their card charging codes on ATM machines.
Institute of the Consumer thus warns mobile phone users to the need to verify with the corresponding operators if the messages received are authentic.
