NOTAS: | The main finding from Ovum and Telecom Asia’s Mobile Broadband Industry Survey, Asia-Pacific: 2011–12 was that operators must protect their most valuable asset – the network – at all costs. For the first time, quality of service (QoS) was considered to be the most important service differentiator by respondents. To ensure QoS, operators will need to have sufficient spectrum holdings, enforceable fair usage policies (FUPs), and will have to abandon unlimited pricing. It is extremely important that regulators understand the importance of these measures and don’t block operators’ attempts to introduce them. |
