NOTAS: | 'Ovum expects the growth of LTE subscriptions to accelerate in the next five years, so that LTE will represent 42.4% of total subscriptions globally by 2020 and 62.7% of subscriptions in Europe. In Western Europe, the number of LTE subscribers will grow to 411 million by 2020, while in Eastern Europe it will reach 240 million. From a current penetration rate of 18.6%, 4G will reach 79.9% of Western Europe by end-2020. In Eastern Europe, 4G penetration will grow from 3.8% to 45.8% in the same forecasting period. Adoption rates are accelerating thanks to device affordability, which has been facilitated by the proliferation of operators’ own-branded devices and by independent OEMs such as France’s Wiko Mobile, Spain’s BQ, and Russia’s Explay.' |
