NOTAS: | "The amount of digital content within the standard home is rapidly increasing. Family photos, music and movie collections, personal records and passwords are all being transformed into digital files. All this data is then stored on the hard disks of a variety of devices - none more so than the home PC. As more and more of our content becomes digitised, the concern is that at some point this treasured data could be lost due to, for instance, a hard disk failure. The solution is to take a leaf out of the enterprise IT handbook and back up data on a regular basis. Network-based backup solutions are an obvious opportunity for broadband service providers (BSPs) to add value for their clients, while simultaneously garnering additional revenue. A number of BSPs have launched such a service; however, with device-based solutions becoming relatively easy to use and affordable, is there still a demand for network-based solutions?" |
