NOTAS: | Survey conducted by Kantar Public at the request of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology "The European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) and the BEREC regulation entered into force on 20 December 2018. While the Code has to be transposed into national laws by the end of 2020, the BEREC regulation has different transposition dates. These new telecom rules will bring EU citizens high-speed connectivity and make telephone calls secure and affordable within the EU, while also paving the way for more investment in high-speed Internet and the smooth introduction of 5G into the European market. The first rule under new telecoms rules to be in force is the cap on international calls. It caps calls from one EU Member State to another at 21 cents and text messages (SMS) at 7 cents (including VAT). The objectives of this survey are to:
? Measure the prevalence of using various communication channels to contact people within the EU;
? Establish the proportion of respondents who have tariff schemes that include a limited or unlimited number of minutes for international calls;
? Assess awareness of forthcoming regulations governing cross-border communications, including telephone and online communications." |
