NOTAS: | "Ovum's annual analysis of the size of the Western European wholesale market, based on the reported results of the 25 leading wholesalers, shows that wholesale revenues fell by 6.2% between 2011 and 2012 thanks to the combined impacts of the economic downturn, intense competition, and regulatory actions. Revenues from all three sectors – fixed voice, fixed non-voice, and mobile wholesale – all declined. However, the leading players’ European wholesale revenues fell less than their retail revenues in Europe, reflecting the increasing importance of wholesale in enabling complex retail services. Although a wide variety of players offer wholesale services in Europe, our analysis shows that the same five national incumbents continue to dominate the market." |
