NOTAS: | This study was written by Intellera Consulting, Open Evidence, Funka Nu AB and PwC EU Services "This Report represents the supporting Study for the evaluation of the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (PSBs), also referred to as the Web Accessibility Directive (WAD). This Study analyses the effects and the state of play of the WAD in the period ranging from September 2018 to December 2021. To ensure a thorough evaluation of the effects of EU legislation, the analysis addressed the five evaluation criteria included in the Better Regulation Guidelines, namely: effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence, and EU added value. Evidence was gathered through desk research as well as consultation activities. These included a Public Consultation, as well as targeted interviews and surveys with all relevant stakeholder groups. Based on the findings, the Study draws conclusions and provides recommendations for future policy initiatives on web accessibility in the EU." |
