NOTAS: | "A new report - International Data Usage by European SMEs - by The Phillips Group, the London based comms consultancy, has found that only 12% of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) interviewed has developed and implemented an e-Business strategy. 40 percent of the SMEs in the study have no strategy for web site development. The report suggests a major opportunity for carriers and supplier organisations to educate and assist SMEs to develop future services and applications. SMEs represent over 90% of all European enterprise customers. SMEs have become a primary target for sales of both data communications services and equipment vendors. Because of the variety of needs in the SME market in Europe, there is still much to understand about SME behaviour and usage of communications and The Phillips Group report is a significant contribution to evaluating future demand for data and Internet services amongst SMEs in major European markets. A total of 368 SMEs in 13 major city areas, spread similarly across France, Germany and the UK were interviewed." |
