NOTAS: | Survey conducted by Kantar Public at the request of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology (DG CONNECT “Electronic Communications Policy Unit”) "27% of all EU residents make use of international communications within the EU at least several times a month. 9% of EU residents make even daily use of calls or messages, either through the telecommunications network (phone calls or text messages) or via the internet (video calls, internet messaging). Since May 2019, when the cap on the cost of calls between EU countries came into effect, 31% of the respondents have made more or longer international mobile calls to another EU country (+3pp since 2020), and 19% have made more international calls on their landline phone. 40% prefer using a mobile phone when communicating internationally within the EU, around two in ten prefer using various internet-based services. 40% of Europeans are aware of the EU price cap." |
